Football

Hi dear reader! You may have guessed from the title itself that this story is about football. Being a football lover myself, I'd love to contribute a football story to the world of stories. It starts like this:

"What! You want to play football. No dear, you can join that singing club in your school but no football for you. Whoever has heard of a girl playing football.", her mother had said when 6 year old Meera had confessed to her mother that she wanted to join the football club in her school.

Meera was a young girl who dreamt of being a professional football player. She had talent but her mother forbid her from even speaking a word about the sport in their household. The only person who supported her dream was Meera's father. He encouraged her and once even tried to join Meera to a football training centre without her mum knowing but soon she came to know. Meera at 15 years old still wanted to pursue her dream of playing football and tried to convince her mother but to no avail. They fought almost everyday on this topic. Her relatives too tried to convince Meera on giving up her dream on playing football.

6 years passed and Meera, who was now 21, was forced to become an engineer. She went to work everyday without any interest. Then, one day, she saw a poster showing a football training academy in Delhi. An idea flashed through her mind. She would sign up for it and move to Delhi. To Meera's delight, her letter had been accepted and she made up her mind to move to Delhi. She quit her job and decided to live in the hostel in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi which was right next to her academy. Her mother wasn't happy at the thought of Meera playing football nor her moving to Delhi. Her father too was a little disappointed about her moving but he still supported her dream and was delighted to hear that she had been accepted to the academy.

It had been 4 months since Meera moved to Delhi. All was going well. She would wake up everyday with lots of energy, happiness and enthusiasm. She had a roommate, Suma, who went to the same academy. Soon, Meera and Suma became the best of friends. Then came the time for Meera to visit her parents. They were so happy on seeing her. She also noticed the change in her mother. Her mother really excited to hear all about the academy, Meera's best friend and their training. Meera had to go back to Delhi but visited her parents whenever she could. So that was her happy ending.

                                                                                                                                   The end
